BrewBuilt™ Electric Brewing Kettle - Size & Valve options
The BrewBuilt Electric Brewing Kettle features an offset welded tri-clamp ferrule for easy installation of the SlingBlade electric heating element. The SlingBlade elements were designed specifically for the BrewBuilt kettles and each element fits the corresponding kettle like a glove, perfectly matching the curvature of the kettle wall and providing the appropriate amount of power for the volume size. The unique crescent-shaped design places the element on one side of the kettle, leaving the opposite side clear for an immersion chiller or other accessories. Positioning the element in this way also promotes a rolling boil that evenly ditributes heat throughout the kettle. You'll love the results you get with the SlingBlade's ultra-low watt density, which won't scorch your wort. The kettle does not come with a power cord so you'll need to provide your own extension cord, or add our watertight On/Off power switch for the most convenient way to power the element. Handles are located at the front and back, rather than either side, saving you space when building out a horizontal system and will keep fittings pointed away from you regardless of which side you pick up the kettle from. This model includes a T.C. x T.C. ball valve with 1/2" barb. Available in 3 different valve hardware packs.
3 Valve hardware packs
1) T.C. x T.C. ball valve with 1/2" barb
2) T.C. x FPT ball valve with oversized 5/8" barb—ideal for using 1/2" ID silicone transfer tubing.
3) Butterfly Valve with 1/2" barb.
Our T.C. kettles were designed to keep pace with the ever-evolving world of brewing technology. Tri-clamp fittings are standard fare in professional breweries, and they’ve been widely adopted in homebrewing as T.C. fermenters and pumps become more affordable and widely available. Tri-clamp fittings, also known as Tri-clover, allow you to make a sanitary connection that is free of nooks and crannies for contaminants to take hold. They are much easier to break down for cleaning compared to threaded connections, and they don’t require Teflon tape to make a watertight seal. T.C. fittings and accessories also give you the distinct advantage of being able to clean in place (CIP), so you don’t need to break down your entire system after every brew day.
These days homebrewers have a lot of strong choices when it comes to their kettle purchase. BrewBuilt has adopted a modern feature set designed to make the brew day easier. Silicone handle and lid grips help prevent burns. Etched internal volume markings make filling the kettle for mash or boil simple. Welded valve and thermometer ports are leak-free and never require maintenance--no more discovering worn gaskets on brew day. Sealed handle rivets are strong and allow the entire kettle to be filled if necessary. And perhaps best of all, it features the signature BrewBuilt notched lid with a silicone plug that allows the lid to be in place while using immersion chillers or an Ultimate Sparge Arm. These kettles are truly designed for brewing.
SlingBlade Heating Elements
The BrewBuilt SlingBlade's unique crescent-shaped design promotes a rolling boil and even heat distribution. This electric heating element places all of the heating power on one side of the kettle, sending thermal energy upward to the surface that then cascades downward on the opposite side of the kettle. This movement creates a natural turbulence that evenly distributes heat while creating a vigorous boil. By being located on one side of the kettle, the other side is clear for immersion chillers, and the curved shape won't obstruct the flow of wort during whirlpool. Thanks to the non-circular design, the SlingBlade can easily be installed on any kettle with a 1.5" tri-clamp ferrule. This also makes removing the element for cleaning between uses a breeze.
