Weyermann® CARABELGE® is a drum-roasted caramel malt made from two-row, German barley that can be used to deliver mild and restrained notes of caramel flavor and aroma, while also imparting notes of dried fruits and nuts. With a lower Lovibond, it imparts a honey-colored hue to the finished beer. Made from the finest European quality brewing barley. This golden-brown malt gives the beer a deeper color and rounds off the aroma harmoniously.

Caramel malt for full-bodied beer styles, typically for:

  • Pale Ale; Belgian Pale Ale, Trappist Single

  • Golden Ale

  • Amber Ale; American Red Ale, Biére de Garde

  • Brown Ale; British Brown Ale

  • Strong Ale; Belgian Tripel, Belgian Dark Strong Ale or Quadrupel

  • Sour Ale; Flanders Red Ale

Suitable for Belgian style beers like Blondes, Bruins, and Ambers, as well as Triples and Dubbels.

  • EBC: 30-40

  • Lovibond: 11.7-15.5

  • Usage: to 30%

  • Moisture: 9.0 max %

  • Extract% (dry basis): min 74%
